Electronic Import Inspection Applications; Electronic Foreign Imported Product and Establishment Certificates; Requirements for Official Import Inspection Marks and Devices; and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) Requirements for Official Import Inspection Establishments

Abstract: The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is proposing to amend the meat, poultry, and egg products inspection regulations to provide for an electronic import application and certification service. This electronic service will be available as an alternative to the paper-based system currently in use. The Agency is also proposing to provide flexibility to the import certificates. In addition, FSIS is proposing to require Sanitiation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in official import establishments.
