Twelve days remain in the open comment period for the U.S. Department of Education’s requirement to accept public comments under President Trump’s executive order for each federal agency to consider every one of its existing rules for possible modification or repeal. Criteria to be considered in the review process include rules that eliminate or inhibit job creation, are “outdated, unnecessary, or ineffective,” or impose costs that exceed benefits, among other factors.
